PART 1 - GENERAL |

SCOPE: Provide lightweight cellular concrete (LCC) floor underlayment where indicated on the drawings. |
| 1.2 |
QUALITY ASSURANCE: |

A. |
Use only experienced applicators, licensed or approved by the LCC manufacturer. |
|
B. |
Use mixing and pumping equipment approved by the LCC manufacturer. |
| 1.3 |
SUBMITTALS: |
|
A. |
Manufacturer’s product data, including test results for compressive strength and density. |
|
B. |
Written proof of manufacturer’s approval of applicator. |
| 1.4 |
DELIVERY: |
|
A. |
Deliver LCC underlayment premixed in ready-mix truck. The manufacturer will add the foam to the mixer at the jobsite or at the plant. |
|
B. |
Schedule delivery to prevent delay of placing LCC underlayment after all ingredients are mixed. Maximum lapse time; 90 minutes. No retempering allowed, except under the direction of the manufacturer’s representative. |
|
C. |
Remove deteriorated material from the site. |

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS: |

A. |
Where LCC is exposed to weather, do not apply during rain. |
|
PART 2 - PRODUCTS |
| 2.1 |
MANUFACTURER: Island Ready-Mix Concrete, Inc., Kapolei, Hawaii. |
| 2.2 |
MATERIALS: |
|
A. |
Isle CellFloor, a lightweight cellular concrete underlayment composed of cement, clean salt free sand, foaming agent and clean water to provide the following minimum requirements: |
|
|
1) |
Compressive Strength: (ASTM C 495-91a) 2,500 psi at 28 days. |
|
|
2) |
Weight: 6.5 psf at 3/4" thickness. |
| 2.3 |
MIXING PROPORTIONS: As determined by the LCC underlayment manufacturer to meet specified requirements. | |
|
PART 3 - EXECUTION |
| 3.1 |
CONDITION OF SURFACES: Make sure subfloor is structurally sound, broom clean, dry, and free from mud, oil, grease or other contaminants. |
| 3.2 |
PRIMING: |
|
A. |
Prime entire surface of plywood subfloor with specified wood primer in accordance with primer manufacturer’s recommendations. |
|
B. |
Allow primer to dry before proceeding with LCC underlayment installation. |
| 3.3 |
INSTALLATION: |
|
A. |
Install LCC underlayment in accordance to manufacturer’s instructions. |
|
B. |
Schedule LCC underlayment pouring after the installation of partitions, to minimize damage to installed underlayment. |
|
C. |
Place LCC underlayment as continuously as possible until installation is complete so that no slurry is placed against LCC that has attained its initial set, except at required and properly designed joints. |
|
D. |
Install LCC underlayment to thickness' indicated, spreading and screeding to a smooth even surface. In no case allow thickness to be less than 1/2 ". |
| 3.4 |
CURING: Cure in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions. |
| 3.5 |
PROTECTION: |
|
A. |
Protect finished work as required to prevent damage or deterioration. |
|
B. |
Do not permit traffic over unprotected underlayment surfaces. |
| 3.6 |
CLEANUP: After completion of work, clean excess materials from walls and all surfaces so defaced. Remove all excess materials and scrap from the job and leave all surfaces neat and clean. | |
